OSaaS

OpenShift as a Service

Dedicated, fully managed OpenShift clusters on demand — provisioned from the portal, metered per node, and billed back automatically.

OSaaS gives tenants a dedicated OpenShift cluster on demand — fully managed, isolated, and ready to run workloads. They request a cluster from the catalog, pick node pool sizes, and start deploying. Cloud Orchestrator handles the control plane, version upgrades, and the underlying infrastructure; the tenant never has to touch it.

What you get

Included with every instance.

☸️

Cluster console

A web console for every cluster. Manage workloads without juggling kubeconfigs.

🧩

Node pools

Add, scale, and remove worker node pools independently of the control plane.

📈

Autoscaling

Node pools scale on demand against real workload pressure.

⬆️

Managed upgrades

OpenShift version upgrades applied in place — no cluster rebuild.

🔒

Tenant isolation

Each cluster is dedicated. No control plane is shared across tenants.

📊

Built-in observability

Metrics, logging, and alerting ship with every cluster.

🗄

etcd backup

Scheduled control-plane backups with point-in-time restore.

⚖️

Ingress & load balancing

Managed ingress and load balancers provisioned per cluster.

Sizes

Pick a size — or define your own.

Node flavorvCPUMemoryLocal disk
Small416 GB120 GB
Medium832 GB240 GB
Large1664 GB480 GB
GPU16128 GB960 GB

Control-plane sizing is managed automatically. Worker node pools scale independently and can mix flavors within one cluster.

Service tiers

Offer the right tier to each tenant.

Tiers are example service levels you define for your tenants. Configure as many as you need — what is shown here is a sensible starting point.

Capability StandardPremium
Dedicated control plane
Worker autoscaling
Topology Single-zone Multi-zone
Version upgrades Scheduled Scheduled + rollback
etcd backup Daily Hourly
Availability SLA 99.5% 99.95%
Support response Next business day 1 hour

Tiers are operator-defined. Map them to your own pricing, quotas, and target tenants.

Support & metering

Supported by Stakater. Metered by the portal.

🛟

Support

Covered by the Cloud Orchestrator base fee — no separate OSaaS licence.
Stakater maintains the OSaaS service definition and ships updates.
Support response times follow the tenant's service tier.
Onboarding and catalog tuning included with the initial deployment.
📊

How it is metered

OSaaS follows the cluster metering model — the cluster counts once, plus one MRU for every node. Workloads running inside the cluster are not metered.

The cluster itself 1 MRU
Each worker node 1 MRU per node
Attached storage volume 1 MRU each
Load balancer 1 MRU
